Finally fellow Londoners the sun has come out after a grim week………I know I’ve been dreaming of mediteranean escapes and booking a getaway. Some great summer savings to be had on expedia, travelzoo and opodo.
The schools break up today-the state schools that is, as most of the private ones are already off, you’ll note by how much busier the playgrounds have been this week. Huge traffic delays expected as hoardes flock to the roads over the weekend…….try to avoid the M25 if you can especially the western stretch. Oh and Heathrow expects around 1.4 million passengers to pass through tomorrow so allow lots of time.
Kate’s ivory and white satin wedding gown is to be shown this weekend at Buckingham Palace’s summer opening which has seen an unprecendented demand for tickets. Book in advance to avoid lengthy queues. It’s 17.50 a ticket and the duchess’s dress will be displayed from tomorrow until October 3rd in the Palace ballroom.
You can also get involved in the “one year to go” olympic celebrations this weekend, BP is supporting the London 2012 open weekend. More than 1,000 events will take place across the UK including art, dance, film, sports and more.
